MetService 气象学家 Stephen Glassey 说，南岛大部分地区的情况类似，亚历山大（Alexandria）、阿什伯顿（Ashburton）、蒂马鲁（Timaru）和基督城的气温均低于冰点。

Glassey 说气温会在一天中稍微升温，但不会太多。
